Upcoming: General Meeting

Thank you guys for all your support during the ECA Drive Day. The Taylor's Dance Club has almost 350 new members this year!

A lot of you have been asking about classes, events, and such. We said we'd tell you all you needed to know at the first general meeting! Well, here are the details:

Date: 5th of February (Friday)
Venue: LT1
Time: 4.00pm to 5.00pm

Please try to make it on time, but if you have to be late due to class or things just come anyway.

A couple of the main topics that are going to be discussed:

Classes
Decide on the classes and instructors you want to see brought to Taylor's, and help set up a timetable that's convenient to you.

The Latin class performing for the ECA Carnival last year.

Crews
Performing/competing in a crew is a big part of being a dancer - members of the Dance Club last year performed and competed in many many events throughout the year. We hope that all of you will get the chance to experience this too!

Performing in Sunway Resort Hotel!

Oh, and it's really important that you come for this meeting, since the Dance Club doesn't really meet regularly (that might change though). If you can't come at all, but are still interested in club issues, just drop us an email at taylorsdanceclub@gmail.com and get in touch so you won't be left out!

Thank you! :)

Upcoming: Dance Fair 2010

Salsa Cruise Asia invites us to join in for the Dance Fair 2010(!) :

In conjunction with the launching of Dance Cruise Asia 2010, our latest dance-themed cruise vacation and also the unveiling of ThemeAsia.com, a one-stop Theme Vacation portal, we are organizing Dance Fair 2010 at Kuala Lumpur Dancers Association (KLDA) on Saturday 30th January 2010. Our objective is to cultivate dance interests among the public hence our tagline “A Celebration of Dance Diversity”.

If you like travelling (who doesn’t) and haven’t got plans for the weekend, come with your family and friends. This event is open to all and most importantly, it’s FREE. Yup, FREE admissions, FREE dance lessons, FREE performances. Did I also mention that you can win FREE holidays to Bali, Phuket, Pattaya, Langkawi, Perhentian and more.

This is going to be a very exciting and fun event with so much to do. Here are some ideas ... you can start off by checking out our latest event, Dance Cruise Asia 2010 featuring a dance cruise vacation to 3 countries, Shanghai, Korea and Japan. Then join us for FREE dance workshops by some of the best dance instructors in (and out of) town . Don’t worry if you can’t dance ... this is where we come in to help. If you’ve decided to continue your dance journey, the dance school booths will be offering some really good deals to start you off your dance track and if you’re lucky enough, maybe win some FREE dance classes too!

Other than dance schools there will also be booths on dance accessories, dance wears, shoes and guess what ... authentic Melaka food stalls just in case you’re hungry!

Highlights of this event will include :
• Dance Cruise Asia 2010
Dance Performances
FREE Dance workshops
• Lucky draws with surprise gifts!
• Dance, Dance Revolution – The Dance Game
• Afternoon Tea-Dance

Media: Flashmob
As mentioned in the previous post, the Taylor's Dance Club surprised the students of Taylor's Main Campus with a flashmob on the 13th of January, at 8 in the morning!

Click to watch!

With our full crew of dancers performing, there were 20 people performing, for the first TDC performance for the year! This flashmob came out of 2 weeks of practice, in a not-as-big-as-we'd-like-it-to-be studio, and turned out pretty well!

We hope you thought the same, and enjoyed it. :)

Upcoming: ECA Day
Blog died for awhile there, so sorry about that!

The Taylor's Dance Club hasn't stopped its activities though! We're a very active club and have been performing throughout December and January, including a few at the Taylor's Lakeside Campus and a flashmob at the Main Campus on the 13th of January, the day after A-Level orientation, to show the new intakes that college life isn't all about studies! :)

To the new students, welcome to Taylor's University College! To the returning students, welcome back!

ECA Day is next Tuesday, on the 26th of January. All the different clubs in Taylor's Main Campus will have booths for you to sign yourselves up. Look out for the Dance Club's booth!

There you can sign yourself up for club activities, classes; and maybe you would even like to join us for performances? Speaking of that, there will be a performance by the Dance Club on the day as well, so, make sure you get a place in the crowd where you'll see our crew of dancers performing, they will not disappoint.
