Media: SAM Corroboree 2009

The SAM Corroboree was held at the Sunway Resort Hotel on the 18th of November in one of the grand ballrooms. The place was really big, and very nicely lit. When the crew stepped into the ballroom for the first time, we went, "Oh, wow." When we saw the place all filled up and full of people though, it became, "Oh, no."

Nerves were high in the dressing room backstage where we got ready for the performance and were warming up! Finally, Salgado got called up. Time for the show!

It went really well, in my opinion! This was our biggest performance for the year; as in biggest crowd, longest performance, biggest crew (17 people). Also, this was the first time Jake, our newest member, performed with us!

The emcees came back on stage after the performance, and the crew left to celebrate in MOS. :)

Dance Arena 09: Results

Congratulations to all the crews who participated in the 2009 Taylor's Dance Arena!

The crews this year definitely stepped it up, and after a night of intense competition...

And the Champions of the 2009 Taylor's Dance Arena who took home the title of Best of the Best were none other than Taylor's University College's very own

Update: Dance Arena 09: Euphoria Freebies

Here's an interesting fact that makes another great reason to go for Dance Arena.

Last year's Dance Arena introduced the Ministry of Sound's Euphoria @ Sunway Lagoon Resort to the college scene and birthed an entire generation of clubbers, giving out 400 free passes to check out Guest DJ Jungle Jerry spin at the club that night.

This year's Dance Arena is going to go one better.

This year, every single guest to Dance Arena 09: Best of the Best will receive not one but two passes to the nation's most happening nightspot.

One for Saturday, the 22nd of August, so that the party will go on after the event ends.

MILKSHAKE, WEDNESDAY (MAIN ROOM)
An urban clash of NY, LA, KL and Miami Rap, Krunk, Hip Hop, Baltimore, Reggaeton and Grime. Featuring DJ Nesh and DJ Ssense.

FRISKY? WEDNESDAY (THE DEQ)
The stylish and sexy vocal house originally featured in London's Ministry of Sound. Featuring DJ Patrick Oliver and Victor G.

Update: Dance Arena 09: Crews

Registration for Dance Arena 09: Best Of The Best is officially closed.

Now, all that's left is to count down the days to one of the biggest nights in campus life. Remember, the 22nd of August, Saturday night, 7:00pm to 11:00pm!

Upcoming: Urban Groove Street Dance Workshop

Urban Groove will be conducting a street dance workshop just for you! Every Tuesday and Wednesday in the ECA Studio from 18th of August to 1st of September with 8 different styles of dance for you to learn:

18th August (Tuesday)

• 3.00 - 4.30 pm - Krump
• 4.45 - 6.15 pm - Popping

19th August (Wednesday)

• 5.00 - 6.30 pm - Hip Hop

25th August (Tuesday)

• 3.00 - 4.30 pm - New Style
• 4.45 - 6.15 pm - B-boy (Freezes)

26th August (Wednesday)

• 5.00 - 6.30 pm - Wacking

1st September (Tuesday)

• 3.00 - 4.30 pm - Locking
• 4.45 - 6.15 pm - House

But how much is it?

All 8 styles for RM 100 only! You're probably never going to get this anywhere else, so grab it while you can! You could also go for 4 styles for RM 70 or 1 style for RM 30.

After this whole workshop, you'll be able to show off your dance skills everywhere! You can say, "Yeah, I can wack, krump, pop, lock, and b-boy! Can you?" :D

Good news everybody!

Based on your feedback, we've decided to do away with auditions and let everybody straight into the finals!

Because apparently some people can practice for hours every day yet can't find the time to do a one minute shot. You know who you are.

So anyway, the rules of the game have changed.

• Participant age: Below 23 years
• Crew members: 1-8
  
• Registration fee: RM70
  
• Performance time: 2:30-5:00 minutes

Send an email to taylorsdanceclub@gmail.com by the 14th of August with your crew name and each crew member's name, MyKad/NRIC number, school/college (if applicable) and the proof of age for your crew.
